ABOUT US

Standing proudly in Farnborough since the late 19th century, the Prince of Wales served as a welcoming stop for local workers, travellers and residents alike. In it’s early years, the pub served the growing community shaped by the railway and later Farnborough’s emerging reputation for aviation innovation.

On May 1st 1984, Peter and Julie Moore took over the pub, continuing its long-standing tradition as a family-owned establishment – a legacy that has now spanned over 40 years! Their passion for proper pub values has helped the Prince of Wales remain a true local favourite with a strong sense of community.

Today we are proud to still be a community focused pub. Known for our well-kept real ales, welcoming atmosphere, cosy pub ad friendly service. We began serving food again in 2025, serving all your favourite pub classics. Our Sunday Roasts and Fish Fridays have been a highlight. We have been featured in the Good Beer Guide for over 40 years and work hard to maintain excellent quality, rotating ales. Please head over to our Real Ale page to read more about what we do.

We hold our annual beer festival in October to celebrate our extensive range of beer, ale and cider – giving you all something new to try from local to well known brewers. Alongside this, we support our local charity Phyllis Tuckwell, we host Smoke & Sounds – an event ran by the regulars of the Prince of Wales on the last bank holiday in May every year. To find out more about our events please see the events page.
